Heavy-skidding at Sløvåg

After the damaged tank's at Alexela Sløvaag AS (former VestTank AS, Trond Emblem) had been removed, new tank's had to be moved into position. The company Koger & Partnerid AS by Mr. Jorma Arukase (objektijuht Norra) did performance the reconstruction, and my company (Skailand Kranservice) was asked to take part in the work to move the two tank's. Both tank's were jacked and skidded to the foundation's, at that time allready constructed. Read the story and see the pictures here.

The 120 ton, 5000 m2 tank on it's way to the foundation. 16m high and 20m in diameter, it's a great challenge for Skailand Kranservice. And the next tank is even 20 ton heavyer. "The sky is the limit" may be correct here.  www.mobilcrane.com

The Kato HD308US is used like a HPU. The skidding is controlled by a fine line, and the operator may stand by the skidd-cylinders. One skidd-length is 3440mm, and the cylinders are moved in 4 positions to move the tank the distance. www.mobilcrane.com
